1. Introduction

Welcome to UrPetPals. These Terms of Service govern your use of our platform, website, and mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Defonseka Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 13156487).

By accessing or using UrPetPals, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Definitions

• “Platform” means the UrPetPals website and mobile applications.
• “Pet Owner” means a user who posts jobs or books services through the Platform.
• “Provider” means a user who offers pet care services through the Platform.
• “User” means any person who uses the Platform, whether as a Pet Owner or Provider.
• “Service” means any pet care service booked through the Platform.
• “Content” means any information, text, images, or other materials posted on the Platform.

3. Eligibility

To use UrPetPals, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be legally capable of entering into binding contracts
• Reside in the United Kingdom
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our discretion.

4. Pet Owner Terms

As a Pet Owner, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your pet, including medical conditions, behavioural issues, and special requirements
• Ensure your pet is properly vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped where required by law
• Provide necessary supplies (leads, collars, food, medication) for the Service
• Disclose any aggressive behaviour or history of biting
• Be available for communication during the Service period
• Pay for services promptly through the Platform
• Treat Providers with respect and professionalism

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled Service may incur a cancellation fee at the Provider's discretion.

5. Provider Terms

As a Provider, you agree to:

• Complete identity verification and background checks as required
• Provide accurate information about your experience, qualifications, and availability
• Fulfil booked Services as agreed, or provide adequate notice if unable
• Follow all instructions provided by Pet Owners regarding pet care
• Use the GPS tracking feature during walks
• Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns immediately
• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Treat pets humanely and professionally at all times
• Not subcontract Services to third parties without prior consent

6. Fees and Payments

For Pet Owners:

• The Platform is free to use for Pet Owners
• You agree to pay the agreed price for Services booked
• Payments are processed securely through Stripe
• All prices shown include VAT where applicable

For Providers:

• Standard commission: 18% of each booking
• Pro plan subscribers: 0% commission on first 20 bookings per month, then 18%
• Payouts are processed weekly for Standard, instantly for Pro
• You are responsible for your own tax obligations

7. Insurance and Liability

UrPetPals maintains public liability insurance that covers certain incidents during booked Services. However:

• Providers are required to maintain their own appropriate insurance
• Pet Owners must disclose any pre-existing conditions or risks
• UrPetPals is not liable for incidents caused by undisclosed information
• Maximum liability is limited to the value of the specific Service
• Neither party excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud

8. Prohibited Activities

You must not:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
• Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users
• Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
• Attempt to circumvent Platform fees or payment systems
• Share account credentials with third parties
• Use automated systems to access the Platform
• Copy, modify, or distribute Platform content without permission
• Misrepresent your identity or qualifications
• Abuse or neglect animals in your care

Violation may result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.

9. Reviews and Ratings

Users may leave reviews and ratings after completed Services. Reviews must:

• Be honest and based on actual experience
• Not contain offensive, defamatory, or illegal content
• Not include personal information about other parties
• Not be used to manipulate ratings or extort other users

We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour
• Receive consistently poor reviews
• Fail to complete booked Services without valid reason
• Are inactive for an extended period

Upon termination, any pending payments will be processed according to our payment schedule.

11. Dispute Resolution

We encourage users to resolve disputes directly. If you cannot reach agreement:

• Contact UrPetPals support for mediation
• We will review evidence from both parties
• Our decision is final regarding Platform matters
• Legal disputes are subject to English law and jurisdiction

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including logos, designs, text, and software, is owned by Defonseka Ltd or licensed to us. You may not use our intellectual property without prior written consent.

By posting content on the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.

13. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), AWS (hosting), and analytics providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.

14. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
